what does arthritis knee pain feel like
I still have pain in my knee after my MRI scan?
I had a bad knee since on 08 January after a holiday, sking sking but was'nt at the time, I fell on the ice, I fell on my left side, damage did'nt start until the following day. I had 2 x-rays and MRI done both returned clear. I'm a physio and the physio initially said it could be a meniscus tear, but now not that. Are the symptoms I have are: locking of the knee, pain when I walk, like a grinding feeling as if the catch, swelling, unable to straighten or bend the knee fully in its entirety, which is very weak, as if the leg gives way is'nt much. Weekfor consultant saw the results of my last MRI, said it would be a waste of time to do an arthroscopy on exploration did'nt show something that has been referred to me Rheumalogy although there is no evidence of arthritis in the scanner or X-ray.My GP gave me anti-inflammatory pills diclofenac sodium, I noticed a slight change for a few days but now back to square one with no one knows it.Does what this might be. Thanks
It was given anti-inflammatory drug, as the knee becomes inflamed. Not sure how much you have given? Best of inflammation is rest, ice or heat, and some exercise. I call the doctor and ask if you can double the dose of anti-inflammatories to get out of the "acute" phase. Rheumatologists treat muscle problems in the area of the skeleton, such as inflammation, so the rheumatologist may give an injection to calm Nice inflammation. Nothing has shown on the radiograph or magnetic resonance imaging for joint and muscles, tendons are in contact, only inflammation. Best of luck
