toe joint pain running

Possibly broken finger, advice?

Hi folks. 2 days ago I managed to snag my finger running (pretty quick, just to make sure of that sound like an idiot) on the stairs: P I was wearing nothing but socks and in particular, hit the second toe, next to the finger big toe. I heard a crack (or crack .. specifically) and had a horrible pain in my finger. Weather or not was just my joint clicking or break the bone is not yet solved .. The finger went numb on the painful area about 15 to 30 minutes later and had swollen the next day with a bruise on my finger. While you can walk on it (as long as im careful) of his painful if moved in certain ways. What im asking is, should I bother going to the hospital? its been 3 days, and inflammation has not yet fallen.

I would say you should be fine without going to the hospital. If, indeed, is broken, the only thing we do is tape the tip Athletic Tape next to him and give him some painkillers. For swelling, take some ibuprofen, like Motrin. This not only reduce inflammation, but also help relieve pain. Try to keep it elevated and iced as well. You can record yourself at home too. If broken, it will eventually heal itself. However, if you have no feeling in the finger or the swelling does not go down after a day or two, you may want to give your doctor a call and see what they think. Good luck!
