I have a Germman Shepherd is beginning to show signs of arthritis (no hip dysplasia) and wonder if anyone has used medication or supplements that are for horses but works well for dogs. I ask about this because I think that if the dogs of the artificially high prices, but you may find similar or the exact material that works
I do not know what you use for horses, however, the supplements glucosamine and chondroitin work very well for both dogs and cats. This has been well documented in a book called "The Cure Pets arthritis by Brian Beale, published in 2000, which includes the recommended doses. There are several brands now available. A few years ago I realized joints of my 12-year old cat has clicked and cracks when he entered and saw that it was increasingly cautious about jumping off the furniture, using their legs to slide as far as he could before having to land with all his weight. I started feeding is Zuke (link below) and it was not long before he began to act normally again. He is 16 now and runs up and down the room and jumps up and down the high places, as a young cat.
