Hi Carly … You are not going mad. Something is happening with your body, just not have a name yet. At age 45 I went through something similar. I was experiencing symptoms that led me to believe he had a heart condition. I went to my family and the doctor said, and ordered a stress test. I passed it with flying colors. People thought that everything was fine and life went on. The symptoms never went and picked in frequency and intensity. A few months later ended up in the emergency room with what * is * diagnosed as an attack of angina. I returned to my doctor again and he sent me to a cardiologist. I had another stress test passed. Symptoms present themselves, and yet I told the cardiologist. He said not to worry and to "stop thinking about it." He told me if I would feel better going to order a cardiac catheterization alieviate my fears, but he was sure it was good. He felt he was too young to have a problem and in very good shape and … a woman. I went home and think about it and called again and told him I wanted that cardiac catheterization. We performed the following week and found a blockage and a stent put in I continued to have symptoms and called the cardiologist to tell him. The receptionist assured me that everything was fine, they had found my problem and take care of it and told me he was on vacation and would not be able to see me for 3 weeks, which was following the first open appointment. I hung up and decided that the next time I had a problem he would travel the 50 miles to the nearest town that had heart center. The following week I had another bad night and my husband took me to one of the leading heart centers 50 miles away. I admitted on a Saturday evening and Monday underwent another cardiac catheterization and found 4 blocks most important and 5 was not too bad. I had open heart surgery next week. Four bypasses and another stent. Carly, for a moment I thought I was going crazy too. It was a battle to get the doctor who listens. I was just sure I I was fine and that was the image of the symptoms. Thank God I knew better and did not stop until you find a doctor to listen. Carly, if you feel you are having a heart-related problem does not stop. This is your life and not the DR. Find a doctor who will listen and carry out tests which are necessary to give a name to whatever you are sick. I did and I'm happy. If I had just taken the word of my cardiologist first everything was fine, he'd be dead right now. I'm not saying that the cardiologist is not a good doctor, but for my part, do not rely on stress tests. They can be a first step, but enough not infallible. Than do not always tell the whole story. Sorry for the book, but I want to give details so that you get the point I was trying to do.
