joint pain arms
How long should it take for joint pain to subside after an attack by wasps?

I was stung several times about 2 months, and developed minor joint pain about 2 weeks later. The pain has intensified over time and become more consistent. I believe that I was stung between 20 and 30 times. The Most were in the calves and ankles. Although several sources claim that the yellow jackets do not leave a sting, I know for a fact that they are yellow jackets, and I had six stingers left inside. Two in the right leg and one on the left leg, each arm and the left side. The joint pain was on my knees, hips, shoulders and elbows. My knees and hips are good now, but the shoulders and elbows especially have continued to worsen. Any suggestions?

If there was a sting the leg was left by a yellow jacket …. their stings are mild as a hypodermic needle, so more than likely bitten by yellow jacket. You haveing a reaction to a protein in the venom was injected with a. You will need a cortisone shot and some anti-inflammatory drugs to stop the pain immediate and arthritis ….. you should consult an internist or allergist will be better. Since you have waited so long may have started to develop arthritis so ….. be prepared to find a rheumatologist or a damn good doctor of internal medicine. Good Luck!
