weight loss and gout (gouty arthritis) …. please help!?

My father has gout and is trying to lose weight and be healthier only in general …. He started eating healthy and limiting the types of foods that can trigger gout, but he had another attack of gout. After some research I discovered that low calorie diets and fasting can trigger an attack of gout, because going to increase uric acid levels and that is what makes painful gout attacks. (I also read that exercise can trigger an attack) Now that I've been searching online for a while and different sources of further saying how important it is to lose weight if overweight, with the drop, but do not know how should I? (since the low-calorie diets are beyond the question) any ideas would be appreciated! thanks!

Allopurinol is a medication that a doctor can prescribe to control gout, and not expensive. Gout It is perhaps the most painful form of arthritis. But is not life threatening although it makes very uncomfortable to play football, in my opinion, is so bad.
